Eagle Facts

  • Eagles mate for life
  • Both parents tend to the nest
  • The Pennsylvania eggs were laid on 14 February & 17 February 2015
  • Eggs begin hatching after 35 days
  • Feathers develop by 3 to 4 weeks
  • Eaglets walk in the nest at 6 to 7 weeks
  • Eaglets begin to fly at around 3 months
  • Young eagles separate from the parents in the Fall
  • Adult eagles do not breed until 4 or 5 years old
