In celebration of the National Park Service's centennial, American Express has partnered with the National Trust for Historic Preservation & National Geographic to award $2 million in grants to national parks in need of preservation.

Anyone who votes can enter the National Geographic sweepstakes to win a trip for two to Yellowstone, the world's first national park!

$245K grant to stabilize the original, one-of-a-kind sandstone eagle atop the arch leading into the park

Zion National Park — Utah
$191K grant to upgrade & preserve the 1.1 mile Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel & highway.

Mount Rainier National Park — Washington State

$97K grant to support restoration work at Parsons Memorial Lodge built by the Sierra Club in 1915

$249K grant to restore Columbus Fountain at the grand entrance to Washington Union Station

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park — Texas
$236K grant to preserve fragile Spanish colonial frescoes and make structural improvements to the Father President's office.

Everglades National Park — Florida
$250K grant to restore the exterior of the visitor center

Minute Man National Historic Park — Massachusetts
$250K grant to rehabilitate the historic Parker's Revenge Battlefield & repurpose the 19th-Century Hargrove Barn for use as an educational center.

Pullman National Monument — Illinois
$250K grant to help preserve the exterior of the Pullman Admin Building

Jefferson National Expansion Memorial — Missouri
$250K grant to repair the historic overlooks at the north and south ends of the memorial

Grand Canyon National Park — Arizona
$250K grant to conserve historic murals inside of the Desert View Watchtower 

Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site — Georgia
$227K grant to preserve the exterior of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, an iconic site of the Civil Rights Movement

Great Smoky Mountains National Park — North Carolina & Tennessee
$250K grant to restore the deteriorating Clingmans Dome Observation Tower

San Juan National Historic Site — Puerto Rico
$250K grant to restore 2 of the iconic sentry posts originally built as part of the Castillo San Felipe del Morro fortification system.

Golden Gate National Recreation Area — San Francisco Bay Area
$250K grant to restore the guardhouse and sally port at the historic Alcatraz prison and provide additional interpretive features.

Joshua Tree National Park — Southern Cali
